As winter arrives, so do the books

The Walter Scott Prize is now open – and we’ve been enjoying the first rush of entries, from publishers here in the UK and abroad.  Here are some of our earliest entries, gathered together for a quick pic in the low winter sun here in at WSP HQ in Scotland.

We’re struck by the gorgeous ornate jacket designs this year – in what’s shaping up to be a cornucopia of a year for historical fiction, the covers definitely live up to the contents!
