The Walter Scott Prize 2017 opens for entries!

The Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction has opened for submissions.  Publishers have until Tuesday 31st January 2017 to enter their 2016 books. For more details on how publishers can enter, go here

Now in its eighth year, the prize is also excited to announce the creation of a new Walter Scott Prize Academy. The Academy will comprise a panel from the literary, bookselling and festival worlds, both here in the UK and in the Commonwealth countries. Academicians will play a role in selecting titles for the longlist, by sharing their knowledge of and judgment on the best historical fiction published in the last year, with the aim of arriving at a truly international and elite longlist.
