The Borders Book Festival
The annual Borders Book Festival in Melrose, Scotland, is traditionally the venue for the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction winner announcement in June.
Set in the shadow of Melrose Abbey, in the beautiful Scottish Borders, the Borders Book Festival is one of the UK’s most prestigious book festivals, with four days of talks, readings and performances by a host of world-class speakers, writers and entertainers. The Walter Scott Prize event is on Thursday 13th June 2024 at 5.30pm, and tickets are available – book soon, as it’s nearly sold out. We’re delighted to announce that all six shortlisted authors will be attending, so to see Tom Crewe, Kevin Jared Hosein, Joseph O’Connor, Kai Thomas, Rose Tremain and Tan Twan Eng reading from their work and finding out who has won the 2024 Prize, and meet the two young winners of the YWSP, book here!
